Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Leicester
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday–Friday (Flexible Days)

We’re recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a long-established, family-run precision engineering company with over 50 years in the carbide and tooling sector. This is a rare leadership opportunity, arising due to the retirement of a valued team member.

This hands-on role will see you managing day-to-day production while continuing the company’s legacy of quality, reliability, and technical excellence in carbide manufacturing.

Production Manager Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all daily carbide production operations
• Manage and support a highly skilled production team
• Ensure quality control, process efficiency, and production deadlines are met
• Collaborate closely with technical, planning, and quality departments
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
• Maintain a strong focus on health & safety and operational best practices
• Report on production performance and KPIs to senior management

Production Manager Specification:

Essential:

• Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar leadership role within the carbide or tooling industry
• Strong technical understanding of carbide manufacturing processes or tooling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a hands-on environment
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement strategies
• Engineering qualifications or relevant technical training
