Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to oversee our Engineered Belt workshop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management: Plan, coordinate, and control the manufacturing processes to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget.
2. Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
3. Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
4. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
5. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, ensuring optimal stock levels.
6. Safety Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
7. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including key metrics and KPIs.

Qualifications:

• Education: Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations. Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety training and drills.
• Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of production workers, providing direction, training, and performance feedback. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance team productivity and morale. Use attendance tracking tools to monitor patterns and address issues early. Encourage open communication so employees feel comfortable discussing their reasons for absence, which can help in providing support or making necessary adjustments. Conduct regular performance reviews to provide constructive feedback and set clear expectations. Use performance management tools to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials. • Process Improvement: Analyse production processes and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Implement lean manufacturing techniques and best practices to optimize workflow.
• Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure adequate supply without overstocking. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering of materials. Conduct and coordinate frequent stock counts and annual stock takes.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed reports on production performance, including key metrics and KPIs. Document production processes and maintain accurate records for auditing and continuous improvement purposes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as site service, procurement, and sales, to ensure seamless operations. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align production goals with overall business objectives.
