Production Manager

Kirby in Ashfield

Salary: £40,000 basic, plus pension and a bonus worth around £4,000.

Where Leadership and Detail Drive Excellence

You’ll take ownership of manufacturing operations where you’ll be leading a team of 16-18 people. As Production Manager you will be overseeing a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing team. This Production Manager role is ideal for someone who thrives on getting orders out on time and seeing the job done right first time. Based on the factory floor this Production Manager job is a combination of ensuring each work station is on-plan in the here and now, setting clear goals, day to day people management and maximising efficiency by looking at cross-skilling and training.

Salary: £40,000 basic, plus pension and a bonus worth around £4,000.

Full Time Monday to Friday

What You’ll Do

Lead daily production operations, ensuring output is efficient, safe and on schedule

Oversee assembly processes to maintain high-quality, precision-built product

Collaborate with supply chain to optimise stock levels and minimise waste

Manage the team and resources to hit clear goals; on time in full, updating production metric boards in each area, developing staff and cross skilling, setting clear and consistent behavioural standards.

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment

A strong understanding of how to plan and achieve the manufacturing plan hourly, daily and weekly through practical problem solving; materials and flow, people and skills, hourly plans, keeping hourly metrics updated, cross skilling, tackling bottle necks etc.

Confidence leading practical continuous improvement projects to increase output and reduce waste

Working mechanical knowledge and practical understanding of factory equipment is advantageous

A commitment to quality control and process consistency

Motivational leadership with the ability to guide, support and challenge your team
