Job Purpose
  • A “General Manager” role, responsible for the operation and maintenance of wholesale assets within the production area, with a focus on leadership and operational management.
  • Manage the operations and maintenance budget for the production area and deliver the financial business plan.
  • Ensure asset performance and meet operational business objectives.
  • Identify and resolve asset performance issues, utilizing team support or requesting assistance from other teams.
  • Maintain and improve compliance, efficiency, and Health and Safety standards.
  • Lead performance management, training, and development of direct reports, including regular meetings and performance reviews.
  • Identify training needs and skills gaps, working to address them.
  • Ensure security and emergency procedures are in place at responsible sites.
  • Contribute to the Wholesale management team, sharing best practices, implementing improvement plans, and leading activities aligned with the business plan.
  • Manage external relationships with regulators and customers as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve asset issues and plan maintenance activities.
  • Lead change initiatives to support the business plan.
  • Deliver an effective operations and maintenance regime, minimizing reactive work and increasing planned activities.
  • Ensure team adherence to operational frameworks for effective asset management.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong managerial and leadership skills to motivate a team responsible for wholesale production assets, ensuring high performance in a 24/7 service environment.
  • Manage operational budgets and develop innovative solutions to improve sustainable operating costs.
  • Understand operations and maintenance strategies, with production line experience preferred, to keep production moving efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess education at HNC level or equivalent, with experience in process or maintenance management.
  • Have a good understanding of regulatory and legislative frameworks affecting wholesale assets.
  • Apply analytical skills to solve technical and managerial problems, knowing when to seek support from colleagues.
Technical Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment is advantageous.
