A leading manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to join their team at a large, fast-paced facility in Bridgwater. The site operates 24/7 and supplies technical materials into sectors including medical, packaging, and industrial applications. This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Operations Director.

You'll oversee a team of Team Leaders and Operators on a continental shift, managing all aspects of production across safety, quality, people, and cost. The business is continuing to scale, so the ability to lead through change and drive continuous improvement is key.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and support shift teams to deliver consistent production performance
  • Manage resources to meet production plans while reducing downtime
  • Maintain high standards across health & safety, GMP, and site infrastructure
  • Drive performance using lean tools, KPIs, and visual management
  • Monitor shift output, quality, cost, and people performance
  • Collaborate with other departments including Engineering, HSE, Quality, and Planning

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-moving manufacturing setting
  • Strong people management skills with a focus on coaching and development
  • Background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Confidence managing SQDC performance across a multi-product site
  • Ability to make clear decisions under pressure and adapt to change
  • Comfortable working a rotating day and night shift pattern
