Excellent opportunity for an experienced manager from a manufacturing or production background looking to join a market-leading, international company.

The company is a well-established, highly revered manufacturing company in the Plymouth area with sites across the world that not only are renowned for the quality of their products but also for being a leading and progressive employer within the area. Due to growth, they are currently seeking a Manager to oversee the Sheet Metal Department. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple production areas, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality output, and promoting continuous improvement. This front-line leadership role requires strong management, problem-solving, and proactive decision-making to drive performance and meet business needs.

The Role:

• You will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by achieving targets, KPIs, and efficiency goals. Provide coaching, development, and structured appraisals to ensure team members reach their full potential. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain) to enhance workflow.
• Working hours - 3:00pm to 23:00pm, Monday to Friday
• Salary up to £53,981 (inclusive of 25% shift premium) plus monthly and yearly bonus scheme, life insurance 3x salary, pension contributions matched to 5%, 33 days holiday including bank holidays with the option to purchase additional days.

The Person:

• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety, quality systems, and manufacturing processes including root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• IT literate.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering and manufacturing systems (preferred).
• CMI Level 3 in Management & Leadership or intent to pursue it.
