Job summary

Fluke, a Fortive subsidiary, seeks a Production Manager to lead the Norwich production area under the Fortive Business System. You will drive daily operations, coach team leaders, and oversee scheduling, quality and cost targets, ensuring On Time Delivery of all products from the Norwich facility.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, performance management, and active involvement in Kaizens and daily management meetings. Collaboration with global teams is expected.

Job Title: Production ManagerDepartment: OperationsResponsible To: Operations ManagerResponsible For: Production Team Leaders, Production Scheduler(s) & Extended Production TeamRole Outline:To manage the day-to-day and strategic operations of the production area using the Fortive Business System, with responsibility for producing product to defined quality standards at the minimum feasible cost.Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for subordinate Managers and extended team’s adherence to all processes within assigned area(s), including contributing to the development and implementation of new processes and to the continual improvement of existing processes.Responsible for delivery of revenue, reduction of Past Due Customer Backlog and On Time Delivery of all products shipped from the Norwich facility.Trains/facilitates the training of team members to defined standard process and ensures ongoing adherence to the standard.Responsible for performance management of defined team, including but not limited to; Performance appraisals, Monthly 1:1 reviews, Disciplinary Investigations, Disciplinary Hearings.Responsible for the development of defined team, including but not limited to; Fluke/Fortive supplied training materials, recommendation of external courses, 1:1 coaching/mentoring, Management coaching.To recommend appropriate career band status changes and/or salary increases for team members and reviewing/approving recommendations of subordinate managers.Uses the Daily Management process to manage team performance, drive improvement, focus and prioritize production support activities.Frequently tracks discretionary spend budgets to ensure production operates within assigned budgets wherever possible. Escalates budgetary issues to the Operations Manager where required.Responsible for the implementation of FBS (Fortive Business System) within the production area, including getting “buy in” and breadth/depth of understanding from the production employees.Additional Information:FBS Activities:A portion of time will be spent attending required meetings, 1:1 reviews, and Performance Appraisal reviews as communicated by the Management team.
