Job Title: Production Manager

Working Hours: 40 per week

Hart Door Systems has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager. Established in 1946, entering its 80th year, this family‑run business has grown into a highly successful market leader in the manufacture of industrial high‑speed doors, delivering our innovative products worldwide. We are seeking a highly motivated operational leader with a passion for continuous improvement, quality and delivery to join our team.

Please note that we are not sponsoring Visa's at this time, so candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.

The Role:

The main purpose of the role is the efficient management of the production of specialist industrial doors, ensuring manufacturing processes align with our commitment, driving performance across quality, cost and delivery. The Production Manager will lead the production team, align with our core values, ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards, and embed lean manufacturing principles.

Duties And Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute production schedules to meet targets/deadlines
  • Ensure effective and efficient use of all resources, driving workforce planning, training and development
  • Oversee daily operations within the workshop to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line
  • Manage material planning and stock control
  • Manage budgets, costs and resource allocation
  • Lead continuous improvement and lean transformation initiatives
  • Handle complex manufacturing processes with variety due to customization
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
  • Develop and deliver against production KPIs
  • Collaborate with cross‑function teams to drive process improvements and deliver customer satisfaction
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders regarding production schedules

Skills / Training:
  • Proven experience in a management role
  • Engineering background (HND/HNC) is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strategic thinking and adaptability under pressure
  • Financial acumen for managing budgets and costs
  • Familiarity with health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and identify improvements
  • Knowledge of lean management
  • Time and motion study experience is desirable
