Job description

We have a great opportunity to join our client in Greenwich as a Production Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. This role has arisen due to new project wins.
As the Production Manager you will be responsible for providing Mechanical support to product and test systems within submerged manufacturing plant and to ensure smooth production flow. This include the management of department KPIs, Safety, Quality, Delivery and Efficiency to ensure targets across various areas and teams are met.
This Production Manager opportunity would be working on the Weekend Rotation.
Weekend Shift Pattern:
2 Weeks Nights and 2 Weeks Days.
Days: Friday – Sunday, 6.00am – 5.45pm.
Nights: Friday – Sunday, 6.00pm – 5.45am.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
    Engineering Degree or relevant transferrable experience.
    Ability to work within a multi-skilled team and as an individual worker.
    Experience in mechanical assemblies and fault finding and repair scheduling.
    Experience and good MS Office skills.
    Must be able to build and maintain excellent working relationship with internal department.
    Good understanding of general mechanics and mechanical engineering principles.
    Good verbal and written communication skills.
    Flexible and able to adapt when business needs change.
    Good analytical skills interpret reports, charts, data and technical drawings.
JOB DESCRIPTION
    Provide advanced mechanical engineering support to submerged manufacturing departments, ensuring optimal performance and minimal disruption to production activities.
    Independently plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance (PPM) and calibration programs for critical equipment, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
    Ensure accurate maintenance of records, including Calibration Certificates, PPM Schedules, Dust Count logs, RAMs, In-House Maintenance reports, LEV filter changes, and other regulatory documentation.
    Perform and validate process testing (Solder, Stencil, Degreaser samples) and communicate results to relevant stakeholders for corrective actions or validation.
    Fully utilize SAP systems to raise and manage SPRs and maintain system integrity for asset tracking and reporting.
    Manage the maintenance and lifecycle tracking of tooling and machinery, including ownership of the tooling database and critical spares inventory.
    Lead the resolution of manufacturing and equipment-related issues, including breakdowns of chambers, engraving machines, and test stations.
    Promote a collaborative and supportive environment, mentoring junior staff and driving a culture of accountability and cross-functional teamwork.
    Promote 6s and lean manufacturing principles, actively supporting the area champion in driving Cis.
    Work with other teams on NPIs and NRPs.
    follow process and adhere to STOP process for Safety and Quality.
    Communicate effectively with departmental staff & internal customers.
    Build and Maintain good working relationships with department colleagues, staff and support departments and other teams
    Prepare ad-hoc reports and data as required.
    Record and track any improvement opportunities actively seeking them from team.
    Act as a role model for safety and quality promoting use of STOP culture.
    Ensure company Health & Safety policies are applied; ensure all staff activities are carried out in a safe manner.
    Review of tooling as fit for purpose, replacing if required.
    Ensure PPM compliance and drive proactive follow-up on any overdue or non-conformant maintenance tasks.
    Author and approve Permit to Work (PTW) documentation and review supplier Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) for accuracy and compliance.
    Conduct detailed root cause analysis on equipment failures, generating actionable reports and recommendations for process improvements.
    Lead fault diagnosis and problem-solving efforts during breakdowns, driving rapid resolution to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
    Own the tooling KPI monitoring process, analyse trends, and lead continuous improvement actions.
    Monitor SDMS and ensuring compliance with documentation and data integrity standards.
    Act as the primary liaison between manufacturing, engineering, and support functions to resolve technical issues and production bottlenecks in a timely and structured manner.
