Job description

PRODUCTION MANAGER

ITP Aero UK are looking for a Production Manager to join our growing team.

ITP Aero is a leading company in the aviation industry, being the ninth largest aero engine manufacturer in the world by revenue and ranking among the top one hundred companies in the aviation industry globally.

ITP Aero has a workforce of more than 4,500 professionals (including +1,000 engineers) in 17 operating centres located in Spain, UK, Malta, USA, Mexico and India.

The successful candidate will:

Lead, inspire and coach a team of between 15 to 25 people within a defined manufacturing cell.

You will be accountable for ensuring that customer delivery commitments are met in full, measured against agreed HSE, quality, cost, delivery, people and responsiveness standards.

Health, Safety and Environment - You will be responsible for sustainment of standards and proactive improvement.

Delivery – You will lead the team to achieve the weekly production plan and manage any immediate problems, escalating where required. You must be capable of coaching a team on how to use performance management effectively.

Quality – You will manage daily sustainment of a workplace to aerospace quality standards. This includes but is not limited to asset care checks, the sustainment of calibration for gauges and air tools and the control of manufacturing documentation.

Cost - You will ensure the cell costs are within budget, including consumables stock management and improvement. You will need to ensure that your team are adhering to accurate labour booking.

People - You will be responsible for communicating clearly and motivating and building high performing teams. You will be responsible for developing and implementing training plans to create capable and effective teams. You will consistently operate an effective communication framework, consisting of start of shift briefings, team talks and toolbox talks.

Assets - You will be accountable for optimising the performance of manufacturing assets in order to maximise facility productivity and in order to meet current and future customer demand. You will understand current constraints and develop a future strategy to support delivery.

Digital Manufacturing - You will need to understand the IT systems we use to drive our management and leadership activity. You will be competent in the use of the tools to manage cell and people performance. You will need to communicate to the team using digital tools, and be able to communicate digital strategy and use of innovative technology.

Who we are looking for :

  • Has a company wide outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working.
  • Has an understanding/knowledge of multiple disciplines demonstrating breadth of experience.
  • Can demonstrate an appreciation of Product Integrity.
  • Has a proven track record delivering improved operational performance in both favourable and unfavourable conditions, utilising cross-functional teams.
  • Has experience of deploying continuous improvement methodologies such as lean and six sigma, ideally with green belt accreditation.
  • Has attended higher education and/or leadership development programmes.
  • Management experience in an engineering industry is ideal, but not essential.

Who will I work with?

You will work at ITP Aero from its site in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire under the guidance of professionals with extensive experience in the sector in a leading company in aeronautical engines and components that ranks among the top companies in the global aeronautical industry.

Your team will comprise of professionals with extensive experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry. You will lead a skilled workforce and integrate Manufacturing and Design Engineering capabilities.

What are the working hours?

Shifts – 37 hours per week working on the following 3 Shift Pattern:

Afternoons: 1.48 pm – 9.30 pm Monday-Thursday

1.48 pm – 7.00 pm Friday

Salary: Starting from £50k

  • 25 days annual leave (inclusive of 5 fixed days).
