Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead large-scale event productions, installations and brand activations across the UK and internationally. You will manage projects from concept to delivery, coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners, and develop production plans, specifications and cost estimates.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting and client-facing skills, with travel as required to realise complex productions on time and to spec.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in event/experiential/installation/creative production management.
• Proven ability to manage medium to large-scale events or complex production projects.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initial concept through to final delivery.
• Collaborate with producers, designers, technical teams and stakeholders to develop production solutions.
• Produce detailed production specifications and initial cost estimates.
• Act as key client contact, communicating methods, requirements, timelines and costs.
• Manage external suppliers, subcontractors and production partners.
• Coordinate production plans with fabrication teams and develop delivery schedules.
• Source and develop relationships with new suppliers while maintaining existing partnerships.
• Establish staffing and crew requirements for each project and coordinate freelancers.
• Oversee production budgets, monitor expenditure, and reconcile project costs.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety requirements; manage RAMS and method statements.
• Coordinate installations, live events and de-rig activities in the UK and internationally.
• Work with technical/fabrication teams to ensure delivery to spec and resolve challenges.

Position: Production Manager

Proactive are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join an innovative creative production business specialising in large-scale events, installations, exhibitions and brand activations.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initial concept and pre-production through to final delivery
• Work closely with producers, designers, technical teams and other stakeholders to develop practical production solutions
• Produce detailed production specifications and initial cost estimates to support new business and project proposals
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, confidently communicating production methods, technical requirements, timelines and costs
• Manage external suppliers, subcontractors and production partners throughout the project lifecycle
• Work closely with fabrication teams to develop pricing, production plans and delivery schedules for bespoke assets
• Source, assess and develop relationships with new suppliers while maintaining strong existing supplier partnerships
• Establish appropriate staffing and crew requirements for each project
• Coordinate freelancers, contractors and local production crews as required
• Manage production budgets, monitor expenditure and accurately reconcile project costs
• Ensure all production activities comply with relevant health and safety requirements
• Prepare, review and manage RAMS, method statements and other project documentation
• Coordinate and oversee installations, live events and de-rig activities both in the UK and internationally
• Work closely with technical and fabrication teams to ensure projects are delivered to specification
• Identify and resolve production, technical and logistical challenges throughout the project
• Travel within the UK and internationally and work outside standard hours when project requirements dictate

Skills

• Significant experience in event, experiential, exhibition, installation or creative production management
• Proven experience managing medium to large-scale events or complex production projects
• Strong project and team management experience
• Established network of suppliers, subcontractors and production partners
• Strong estimating, budgeting and commercial management skillsli>
• Broad technical understanding of event production, fabrication and installation
• Strong knowledge of scenic construction methods, materials and fabrication processes
• Experience working with technical drawings and production documentation
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Vectorworks or SketchUp
• Experience producing, interpreting or reviewing construction and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements, including RAMS and method statements
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK and internationally
