Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager to join the management team, responsible for several production plants located within the Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire areas.

The Production Manager will have a proven track record in managing multi sites, cultural behaviours, and budgets/costs. You will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager, making decisions based on business needs and be confident in your approach to business and people management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. The Production Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Operations, Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, and Sustainability.
  2. Budget responsibility for all aspects of operational spend including fixed and variable costs.
  3. Produce accurate financial forecasts for capital expenditure and exceptional maintenance spend.
  4. Provide leadership, recruit new members of staff, and ensure training and development plans are in place.
  5. Maximise site availability and output through effective maintenance plans and utilisation of LEAN Six Sigma techniques.
  6. Ensure accurate stock management procedures and controls are in place.
  7. Provide the highest level of customer service and product quality to business customers.
Person Specification:
  1. The successful applicant will possess or be prepared to work towards the relevant SHE qualifications, MPQC Level 4 Diploma (or similar), IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent, IEMA Environmental Sustainability for Managers or equivalent.
  2. Ability to lead and inspire a team of people at the highest standards with a minimum of 2-3 years’ leadership experience in a similar role, covering multi sites.
  3. You will need to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a committed team as well as being a goal-setting self-starter.
  4. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate the ability to develop personal relationships with both external and internal customers and suppliers.
