Job description

Role: Production Manager
Salary: Up to 55k depending on experience
Shifts: Monday - Friday Days (Occasionally working 6-2 / 2-10 when needed)

We're looking for a Production Manager to work alongside the Manufacturing Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a busy production facility. With approximately 100 employees and six Team Leaders reporting directly into this role, you'll be a key player in achieving operational excellence across areas such as welding, machining, pressing, robotic welding, and painting.

The role:

  • Lead and support Team Leaders and production teams (100+ employees)
  • Create and manage production plans to achieve >98% on-time delivery
  • Drive performance in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP)
  • Oversee the launch of new products and continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure standards are met, including IATF 16949 and ISO 45001
  • Develop team leaders to run day-to-day operations independently
  • Support systems such as ERP, QMS, and Pirana
  • Act as site lead when the Manufacturing Manager is away

Ideal candidate:

  • Proven experience in production or operations management in automotive or manufacturing would be desirable
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • Experience with shift-based teams, but working on a day shift
  • Skilled in lean tools, problem solving (8D), and visual management
  • Confident communicator with strong planning and organisational skills
  • Proactive and always looking for ways to improve
