The Opportunity

We are seeking an outstanding Production Manager to oversee production activities at our system manufacturing facility in the UK. Reporting directly to the Operations Director and working as part of the senior management team, you will be responsible for producing Electrical Control Cabinets, Pressurised Water Vessels, and testing all manufactured equipment to ensure quality and safety standards are met. Emphasizing team development, with a focus on people, quality, and sustainability.

Alongside delivering exceptional quality products with market-leading lead times, you will foster an environment of challenge and innovation, prioritizing continuous improvement. You will play a key role in aligning stakeholders across the business to meet commercial targets and consistently deliver improvements.

Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the systems production and testing team, fostering a culture of encouragement and ownership.
• Manage stakeholders effectively, with excellent communication skills.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in production, aiming for 100% Right First Time (RFT).
• Lead change management and develop a LEAN production environment.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and manage projects to realize benefits across production and other operational areas.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand bottlenecks and implement solutions.

Operational Responsibilities

• Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained, with ongoing training and clear roles and responsibilities.
• Plan and manage production resources to optimize efficiency and meet financial goals.
• Monitor daily production progress to ensure on-time delivery.
• Work closely with quality and procurement teams to improve incoming component quality and reduce rejects.
• Support other departments and supervisors as needed, including coverage, addressing shortages, and responding to quality issues.
• Drive KPI improvements and enhance visual management.
• Manage factory facilities and subcontractors effectively.
• Implement and oversee preventative maintenance schedules.
• Order tools, disposables, and cleaning supplies.
• Oversee capital equipment acquisition.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and pride in the facility.
• Handle HR tasks such as recruitment, holiday planning, and sickness management.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in manufacturing.

• Ability to work effectively in a pressurized environment.
