Job summary

CV Technical Limited is seeking an experienced Production Manager for its food manufacturing operation in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. This hands-on role leads production teams, ensures daily targets are met, and keeps quality, safety, and efficiency at the forefront.

You will work closely with senior management to drive continuous improvement, manage labour and resources, and provide clear production reporting to support decision-making.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of management experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong HACCP, GMP, and food safety knowledge.
• Proven track record in planning labour, productivity, yield and costs.
• Hands-on leadership with shop floor presence.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production activities to meet plans and customer requirements.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on production leader to take ownership of day‑to‑day manufacturing performance, leading production teams and ensuring that customer demands are met without compromising on quality, food safety or efficiency.

Working closely with the Factory Manager, you will play a key role in delivering production targets, developing employees and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

This is a shop‑floor-focused position, suited to someone who leads from the front, takes a proactive approach to problem‑solving and can translate production plans into measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily production activities to ensure manufacturing plans and customer requirements are achieved.
• Lead, motivate and develop production teams, setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards of performance.
• Plan and allocate labour and resources effectively to maximise productivity and operational efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators, including output, labour efficiency, yield, waste, downtime and production costs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, GMP and quality standards.
• Identify production issues, investigate root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency and optimise manufacturing processes.
• Maintain effective communication and handovers between shifts and departments.
• Work collaboratively with Technical, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to support overall factory performance.
• Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained throughout the production operation.
• Provide accurate production reports, performance analysis and recommendations to support operational decision‑making.

The Ideal Candidate

• A minimum of five years' management experience within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, hygiene standards and food safety requirements.
• Proven experience managing production plans, labour, productivity, yield, waste and operational costs.
• Demonstrable experience leading, developing and holding production teams accountable.
• A hands-on management style, with a visible presence on the shop floor.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and improving production performance.
• Excellent communication, organisational and reporting skills.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and production performance data.
