Operations Manager / Production Manager - Droitwich, Worcs - £45,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations / Production Manager to shape and drive the creation of Stiltz Homelifts newest production facility to be based in Droitwich, Worcestershire.

As Stiltz continues to expand and strengthen its operations, we are planning to assemble and manufacture key components in the UK for our Homelift products destined for the USA market.

What you will do:

As Production / Operations Manager, you will oversee recruitment, assembly, factory layout, product testing, and warehouse operations—ensuring optimum quality, and safety at every stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Management: Plan, coordinate, and control the manufacturing processes from container unloading to reloading to ensure products are shipped on time and within budget.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of assembly workers and forklift drivers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency. Utilise lean manufacturing techniques and best practices to optimize workflow.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of container parts, raw materials and finished products, ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, & service levels including key metrics and KPIs.

What you will need:

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a focus on motivating and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven production / operations / warehouse management experience, be fully proficient in assembly and quality control processes, lean manufacturing principles, and industry safety regulations.
  • Proficient in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management software (e.g., ERP/MRP systems and Excel).
  • Experience in creating, maintaining, and analysing manufacturing BOMs and associated cost structures.
  • Knowledge of SMT would be an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced production environments.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and all levels.
