The National Conservatoire of Wales is seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to lead the planning and delivery of production activity across the college. The successful applicant will bring substantial professional experience in production management within theatre, live performance or related creative industries, with a passion for developing the next generation of production arts practitioners. They will have a strong track record of delivering complex productions and/or teaching and training, alongside excellent organisational and leadership skills, enabling them to ensure that production management at Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama reflects and informs current professional practice.

The post-holder will be a key member of the Production Department and will be responsible for creating a sustainable and thriving production environment in which students can develop their professional practice, technical understanding and collaborative skills. They will oversee the planning, scheduling and operational delivery of production activity across the college, working collaboratively with creative teams, technical departments, students and visiting practitioners to ensure productions are realised safely, effectively and to a high professional standard. They will contribute to production planning and departmental development, while strengthening relationships across the College and with external professional partners to support and enhance the College’s reputation for pioneering, immersive professional education in music and drama.

The Production Department, led by the Director of Production Rhian Jones, supports and delivers a broad programme of public performances, productions and training activity across the College working collaboratively across Drama, Music and external partnerships. The department plays a central role in ensuring students are immersed in a professional working environment, developing the collaborative, technical and creative skills required for careers across the theatre, live performance and wider creative industries.

The successful candidate will advocate for and promote the College’s vision and values and will be line-managed by the Director of Production.
