As our Production Manager you need to be a natural leader and a strong problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing energy and structure to the team each day. We’re looking for you to take ownership of our daily production activities, coordinate our teams, and maintain workflow to ensure we consistently deliver a strong output.

Who are we?

Part of APCL Group Cammell Laird is known across the globe. Our strategically located facility on the River Mersey operates across 5 core markets: defence refit and repair, commercial refit and repair, defence newbuild projects, commercial newbuild projects and energy.

Across 90 acres we operate four dry docks, a large modular construction hall and extensive covered workshops. We’ve played a strategic role in UK shipbuilding for the past 200 years.

So, what will you do?

• Reporting directly to the Director of Production, you will plan, schedule, and oversee production operations to meet output targets while managing costs

• Every day you will be leading, managing and motivating our production team, ensuring safety and performance standards are met while also understanding and promoting policy and process

• You’ll align and collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, allocate resource efficiently and effectivity to consistently deliver maximum output

• Monitoring KPIs, with accountability for delivery targets, you will accurately report on progress and implement improvements to reduce downtime and wastage

• You’ll ensure compliance with processes, health, safety, environmental and quality standards with a consistent ‘audit-ready’ mindset

• You will always be ready for potential or confirmed, incoming or outgoing projects to make maximum use of the facility

What are we looking for?

• A natural leader with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and written, to engage with a wide range of stakeholders

• Experience at management level would be ideal, if you have experience in supervision and the drive and aptitude the take this step up then we can explore that

• You’ll need to open to further development and be keen to promote the development of others.

• You’ll need to analyse data and make informed decisions quickly, so strong organisation and problem solving experience is critical

• The ability to interpret complex technical specifications and understand technical drawings, paying close attention to detail using bespoke software tools as well as Microsoft Office

Why join us?

• This is a great opportunity to work on high-profile, impactful projects as part of a supportive and ambitious team

• You’ll be working in an environment where your ideas and leadership make a massive difference

• We can provide growth and professional development at the centre of a marine technology hub on Merseyside, a world class maritime cluster
