Job description

Sorbothane Inc., an established manufacturing company specializing in visco-elastic materials located in Kent, Ohio, is seeking a Production Maintenance Technician I.

General Requirements and Responsibilities:

The Production Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems. Responsibilities include monitoring equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness by following standard procedures, conducting failure analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, and logging modifications and maintenance details in the designated system. The role requires adherence to all safety procedures, a high school diploma, and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience. The technician reports to the Plant Manager and works under the close supervision of senior personnel, possessing a moderate understanding of general job aspects.

Other Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Start up production machines daily following standard procedures.
2. Mix raw materials as needed for each machine.
3. Change over machine colors as needed.
4. Perform building maintenance repairs as needed.
5. Recycling or disposing of solvents and materials.
6. Run production machines as needed.

Additional tasks and projects may be assigned by the Production Manager.

Job Details:

• Type: Full Time
• Hours: 5:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday
• Wage: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
