Production Machine Operator
Taunton, MA
$17 to $21 per hour depending on experience

Job Purpose of the Production Machine Operator
The Production Machine Operator is responsible for producing the product according to specifications, including machine start-up procedures, line speed adjustments, material checks, and quality standards. The operator tracks waste, reports machine issues, participates in team huddles, and helps drive improvements within the production team.

Responsibilities of the Production Machine Operator

• Maintain a clean machine and work area
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to GMPs and Food Safety Requirements
• Follow Food Defense Procedures
• Check seal integrity of packages
• Post and maintain visual standards
• Monitor and adjust weight according to Net Content Procedures
• Load Lids, Film, and Spices, maintaining applicable lot records
• Record all stoppages on the line
• Participate in process improvement activities and team meetings
• Monitor Metal Detection and maintain records

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Adjust stations, drivers, and parameters to produce and maintain product specifications
• Perform change-overs for size, hummus, and topping flavors
• Understand and correct common machine faults
• Read and write English
• Complete shift paperwork accurately and timely
• Clean and restart machine after jams
• Understand safety and quality procedures
• Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and quality teams

Quality and Food Safety Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Enforce quality and food safety programs per standards and regulations
• Address deviations from policies and standards
• Participate in quality and safety issue resolution
• Continuously improve processes
• Follow GMPs, HACCP, and PRPs
• Carry out metal detector monitoring and label monitoring as required

Education and Experience

• Experience in food processing and packaging
• High school diploma required
