As a Delford Operative, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the metal detector CCP, performing checks as directed by company policy and customer requirements.

Any quality issues or concerns must be reported immediately to the area Line Controller, Process Controller, Operations Team Leader, or Production Manager for corrective action.

Effective communication, teamwork, and interaction with other operatives and supervisory staff are essential.

The role is mainly performed in a temperature-controlled environment and involves extended periods of standing.

If the CCP fails, the CCP controller must stop the line and ensure that the product is not shipped until the issue is resolved.

Shift pattern: B Shift - Light Meat 2 - 223 shift pattern 06:00-18:00, Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday; Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour

Location: Main Street, Anwick, NG34 9SL

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out tasks as trained.
  • Operate, program, and monitor Delford or other labeling machinery.
  • Monitor the metal detection CCP, perform checks, and complete paperwork as required.
  • Inform managers if assigned tasks are outside your training scope.
  • Never allow untrained staff to operate the metal detector, and supervise trainees accordingly.
  • Do not operate the metal detector following a failed CCP check until the issue is resolved.
  • Communicate with PC and Line Controller/Management following failed CCP checks.
  • Collect correct labels from the label room as per specifications and return unused labels after each run.
  • Only undertake tasks for which you have been trained.
  • Work safely, promoting health and safety for yourself and others.
  • Report health and safety issues to your manager.
  • Report accidents or near misses to the first aider.
  • Maintain professional behavior at all times.
  • Ensure quality and hygiene standards are upheld in the production environment.
  • Maintain productivity standards.
  • Be flexible to work in any area of the business as needed.
  • Occasionally work overtime or outside normal hours to meet business demands.
  • Actively seek to reduce environmental impact, such as waste reduction and recycling.
  • Be prepared at the start of your shift to perform checks accurately and efficiently.
  • Record all shift-related information accurately and legibly.
  • Report anomalies promptly for corrective action.
  • Ensure all equipment is available, functioning, and ready for use.
  • Check and operate all monitoring and measuring equipment within specifications.
  • Stay updated with changes to product specifications and testing procedures.
  • Ensure smooth shift handovers with all relevant information and equipment transferred to the next operative.
