Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire

Salary: GBP50,000 - GBP60,000 + Bonus + 26 Days Holiday + Benefits

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday - Thursday: 7:30am to 5:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. Friday: 7:30am to 12:30pm

We're looking for a Production Leader - Designate at Penta Precision, a growing precision machining business in Portsmouth. This role is a development opportunity designed to take the right person on a clear pathway into senior production leadership over time.

What you'll be doing

We want to invest in taking the right person on a journey with us.

Starting out, you'll support the Head of Manufacturing and Quality with:

1. Day-to-day coordination of live works orders through the shopfloor
2. Assisting with production planning and scheduling
3. Communicating with departments across the business to ensure smooth workflow
4. Learning our systems, processes, and planning tools from the ground up

Over time, you'll progress to:

1. Taking ownership of the full production schedule
2. Leading the daily operations of the production department
3. Line managing team leaders and supporting them to deliver on the plan
4. Running daily and weekly production meetings
5. Driving performance and continuous improvement

You don't need to have held a production leadership role before, but you do need the right attitude, energy, and foundation to grow into one.

We're looking for someone who:

1. Has a CNC machining and manufacturing background
2. Is organised, proactive, and eager to learn
3. Is curious, asks smart questions, and seeks to understand the bigger picture
4. Shows empathy, humility, and excellent interpersonal skills
5. Is comfortable using computers and willing to learn production systems
6. Has or is ready to develop ownership mentality. Someone who "gets it" and "wants it"
7. Wants to be the best at what they do and brings a mindset of continuous improvement
8. Aligns with Penta's core values and long-term vision
