Job summary

Elis in Chorley is seeking a Production Leader to oversee the production operation, ensuring quality and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

You will train and coach the production team, enforce safety and policy compliance, and work with management to improve efficiency, KPI performance and overall service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing and motivating people.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (desirable).
• Experience in a customer-focused environment (desirable).
• Proficient PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Production to produce quality products meeting packing requirements, efficiently and on time.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and staff training on plant and machinery.
• Manage and control activities per production plan to meet KPI targets.
• Train, motivate, monitor and coach the production team to achieve Operational Excellence and Service Excellence.
• Ensure site inductions and workwear are deployed to staff and visitors.
• Contribute to feedback/debriefing to identify operational issues and opportunities to improve policies and procedures.
• Work with management to increase effectiveness, efficiency and added value of all functions.
• Collaborate with onsite management to resolve production issues affecting delivery schedules.

The Opportunity

• Manage the Production operation to produce quality products which meet the customers packing requirements, are produced efficiently and delivered at the agreed time.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and legislation including correct training for staff on plant and machinery in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Manage and control all activities in accordance with the production plan to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) targets are achieved.
• Train, motivate, monitor and coach the production team to ensure Operational Excellence is achieved and Service Excellence is maintained
• Ensure site inductions and workwear are deployed to staff and visitors
• Contribute to feedback and debriefing sessions to identify common operational issues and identify opportunities to improve policies processes and procedures
• Work with management team to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and added value of all functional activities
• Work with the onsite management team to identify solutions to any production issues which may affect the successful completion of delivery schedules.

What We're Looking For

• Would be advantageous if you have worked in a food processing / production / FMCG manufacturing industry
• Experience or strong understanding how to manage and motivate people
• Practical knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma methodologies (desirable)
• Experience of working in a customer focussed environment (desirable)
• competency in PC skills
• Ability to deliver quality results under pressure.
