Job summary

A manufacturing firm in Chippenham is seeking a Production Lead to join their innovative team. This role offers a unique 9-day working fortnight, providing a three-day weekend every other week. As a Production Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance, driving process adherence, and supporting the implementation of quality standards. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of LEAN methodology and experience in manufacturing processes, taking part in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

My client, a specialist in the design and manufacture of advanced composite structures, based in Chippenham, are currently looking for a Production Lead to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will work with the Operations teams to develop efficient processes, test procedures, and Quality systems that ensure the products and processes fulfil customer standards, meet safety regulations, and satisfy customer expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure H&S policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Maintain good working practices and workplace organisation (5S) within the Production environment.
  • Ensure Process adherence driving right first time performance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality standards and control systems in conjunction with operations management.
  • Support with and sign off the creation of Works Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and associated Quality Control Plans
  • Support non-conformance activity, troubleshooting product or production issues with root cause activity and developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in key KPI's including OTIF and RFT.
  • Championing Continuous Improvement activity to enhance operational efficiency and develop a Lean culture within Production.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of LEAN methodology and associated tools and techniques.
  • Experienced in writing process documentation including Works Instructions, Quality Control Plans and relevant quality documentation.
  • General experience in a variety of manufacturing processes and ability to work within a team and as an individual contributing in a fast-paced, changing environment
