GlaxoSmithKline is recruiting an Orals Production Lead at our Worthing site. You will manage manufacturing lines to meet schedule, uphold quality and safety standards, and drive continuous improvement across shift teams.

The role requires leadership of technicians, hands-on support, and rigorous adherence to GMP, GPS 5S and related investigations; you will contribute to OEE targets and daily planning in a high-hazard, regulated environment.

Qualifications

  • A levels or GCSEs grades A-C (Maths and English).
  • Experience in a similar production area with line leadership.
  • Ability to run production lines within the area.
  • Knowledge of GPS 5S and safety/regulatory requirements.
  • Auditing readiness and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production lines to deliver required output and schedule adherence.
  • Communicate shift targets clearly and complete effective handovers.

Technology is transforming how we manufacture medicines and vaccines, enabling us to increase the speed, quality and scale of product supply.We need the very best minds and capability to help us on our journey to make more complex products, harnessing the power of smart manufacturing technologies including robotics, digital solutions and artificial intelligence to deliver for patients.Position SummaryThe Orals Production Lead has responsibility for the manufacturing and supporting processes and associated decisions to ensure delivery of customer service and schedule adherence whilst maintaining quality and safety standards for the area of their responsibility.ResponsibilitiesThis role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:Lead production lines to deliver required output and schedule adherence, providing hands-on support while maintaining safety and quality standards.Communicate shift targets clearly, prepare lines for success and complete effective handovers with the incoming Production Lead using the agreed logbook or system.Drive performance by positively challenging team members, holding people accountable and escalating when additional support is needed.Create and deliver technician training plans and provide operational cover, including during breaks, when required.Maintain accurate hourly and daily metrics, monitor shift performance and support problem-solving and process order change over with team leaders.Ensure the production facility meets GMP, safety and regulatory requirements, including GPS 5S and housekeeping standards, and support related investigations.Complete allocated BPR preparation and reviews, MERP activities, reconciliations and OOS investigations accurately and on time.Lead and maintain Tier 1 activity for allocated zones, manage OEE targets and toolkit use, ensure conformance to the daily plan and escalation process, and support pallet movement and waste management across the packaging floor.Why You?Basic QualificationWe are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:A levels or GCSE’s grades A-C (Math’s and English)Experience working within similar production area and leading techniciansAbility to run production lines within the areaSAP knowledgeAbility to follow Leader Standard WorkLogical fault finding skills leading to decisions in a timely manner.Basic GPS knowledge especially in problem solvingKnowledge of audit processes, preparation and requirements.Preferred QualificationIf you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:Good knowledge of site safety regulations.Active continuous improvement advocate.Computer Skills – Excel/PowerPoint/Word.Self motivation and drive with strong interpersonal skills to work alongside teamsDemonstrated leadership skills.Ability to balance resource and plan aheadAbility to plan, organize and control workloads of self and other to meet deadlines and deliver schedule and targets.Communication skills at all levels both written and verbalWorking pattern and locationThis role is on-site at a United Kingdom manufacturing location. Working patterns include shift work and may include early and late rotating shifts.
