Job summary

WatchHouse is seeking a Production Kitchen Assistant to support across our production kitchens. The role focuses on delivering best-in-class breakfast and lunch items for our Houses, with care and attention to detail in every item.

You will maintain product quality, assist in storage and dispatch, uphold hygiene standards, and work with the team to ensure smooth daily operations. Reports to Kitchen Supervisor and Kitchen Lead.

Qualifications

  • Level2 Food Hygiene certificate is required.
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain quality and presentation.
  • Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Good communication with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to follow recipes and specifications precisely.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sandwich fillings, wash and chop vegetables.
  • Prepare savoury items, sandwiches and wraps per daily orders.
  • Follow recipes including weights and presentation to ensure consistency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and uphold food hygiene standards.
  • Support storage, packing and dispatch processes.

Job description

ProductionKitchen Assistant (CPU)

In short:

The Kitchen Assistant role is a hands-on position suited to someone with a genuine passion for quality, consistency, and great food. Based across our production kitchens, you will play an important part inproducingbest-in-class savoury breakfast and lunch items to be delivered to our Houses, ensuring eachitemis prepared with care and attention to detail.

You willalso helpmaintainhigh product quality, support storage and dispatch processes, uphold cleanliness and food safety standards, and work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Directly reports toour Kitchen Supervisor and Kitchen Lead.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing sandwich fillings,washingand chopping vegetables.

  • Preparing various savoury items, sandwiches and wraps according to daily orders.

  • Follow correct recipe and specification including weights and presentation

  • Uphold standards across the team to make sure product quality ismaintainedand that allitems are being produced to the correct recipe and product specification, ensuringconsistency across all product lines.

  • Address any product quality issues (quality, weights, finish) within the shifts and escalat e as required.

  • When required, completing Trail tasks to ensure food safety compliance.

  • Ensuring correct storage and labelling of all ingredients.

  • Assistingin the correct storage of deliveries.

  • Packing and storage of finished products for dispatch.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace throughout the shift.

  • Following hygiene SOPS andcomply withrelevant food hygiene and health and safety legislation.

  • Cleaning floors, sanitising stations, taking out the refuse andmaintainingsafety standardsat all times.

Key to this role:
  • Genuinepassionforfood and drive to deliver best-in class products to our Houses.

  • Available 40hours per week, any 5 days out of 7.

  • Level2 Food Hygiene, knowledge ofHACCP and ability to implement and manage food safetypractices to remain compliant.

  • The ability to build andmaintainrelationshipswhilst showing empathyto your colleagues.

  • Attention to detail,be diligent inensuringall product lines are consistent and to productspecification.

  • Ability to accuratelyfollowrecipespecifications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to workat pace within a fast-paced environment.
