Job description

Assembly Fitter:
Our client is a large engineering firm who are looking to recruit semi skilled fitters to join the team.

We are looking for candidates with the right attitude, who want to learn and contribute to a team. You must be able to use hand tools and follow operating procedures.

This is a safety critical environment so the necessity to follow standard operating procedures is paramount.

The role is on a 2 or 3 shift system, Monday to Friday. Mornings, Afternoons & Nights.
You must have the flexibility to work a night shift - maximum 1 in 3 weeks.

This is a long term temporary position with the potential of a permanent job.

Successful candidates will be expected to pass a drugs and alcohol test before starting.

Assembly Fitter:
Pay Rates:

PAYE: GBP16.63 - GBP17.81 per hour

Assembly Fitter:

Responsibilities and Duties.

• Assemble parts and components into final products based on detailed instructions.

• Operate assembly line tools and equipment as required for the assembly process.

• Identify and report any issues or defects with components, wheelsets or equipment and assist in resolving problems.

• Maintain accurate records of the assembly process

• Flexible across the department

• Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

• Ensure the highest standards of quality control and performance are met during the assembly process

• Ensure their work area is kept clean and tidy throughout the shift

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and report work clearly.

• Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to maintaining safety standards and working in a safe environment.

• Experience: Prior experience in mechanical assembly preferred, training to be given for the right candidate

• Qualifications: Math s and English G.C.S.E or equivalent

• Teamwork: Must be able to work within a team or on their own

Hours of Work:
Rotating weeks.

Mon-Thursday: 06.00 - 14.00
Fri: 06.00 - 12 noon and Mon-Thurs: 14.00 - 22.00 & Fri: 12.00 - 18.00

Nights: Monday to Thursday: 22.00 - 06.00.
Friday: 18.00 - Midnight.

Successful candidates must pass a Drugs & Alcohol test before starting.
