The Role
Due to an increase in workload, we are expanding our assembly team and require fitters to achieve customer deadlines. These roles report into the Assembly Team Leader and Assembly Supervisor. The purpose of the roles is to assist in the manufacture of hydraulic and mechanical equipment. The roles require an understanding of hand and power tools, calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, Micrometres, Vernier Callipers etc.

Duties will include:

  • Assembling components to detailed 3rd angle drawings and process plans.
  • Using a wide range of hand tools and powered tools to perform tasks such as filing, deburring, pipe bending, hydraulic assembly and mechanical assembly.
  • Being responsible for ensuring that all departmental policies and procedures are documented, maintained, communicated, understood, and adhered to.
  • Communicating with team members on a regular basis. Feeding back to supervisor of any requirements.
  • Ensuring the accurate completion of all documentation to schedule.
  • The successful candidate may also be asked, from time to time, to work with the Production Management & Planning teams to implement methods to improve efficiency, quality and production lead times whilst reducing costs. In addition to this, they may be requested to assist with conducting trials for new processes ensuring the fitting team conforms to procedures.

Requirements

Essential skills, experience, and knowledge requirements:

  • An Engineering Qualification- HNC or NC
  • Be efficient in reading/understanding 3rd angle engineering drawings.
  • Capable of following manufacturing processes and plans.
  • Have the required work ethic and attitude towards working and learning.
