On offer is an opportunity for a Production Engineering Manager (Fabrication) to join a skilled leadership team.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of approximately 70 workshop operatives, ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. The role is hands-on, requiring a strong fabrication and welding background, excellent man-management skills, and the ability to lead from the front.

The Role

1. Oversee the allocation of personnel: platers, fitters, tube manipulators, welders, operatives & apprentices
2. Break down work packages for supervisors and develop efficient build methodologies
3. Advise on and control tooling, jigs, fixtures, and consumables
4. Track production targets and ensure project deadlines are met
5. Liaise closely with QA and Contracts teams regarding welding procedures
6. Promote safety, quality, teamwork, and discipline across the workshop

The Person

1. Strong fabrication and welding bias
2. Familiarity with tube and plate fabrication
3. Able to confidently read and interpret complex engineering drawings
4. Self-motivated, hands-on leader who can work under their own initiative
5. Experience managing production teams within a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment
