Production Engineer

Location: Hailsham, BN27 4EL

Salary: Competitive, DOE

Contract: Full time, Fixed Term Contract, 3 - 6 Months

Hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours

We are now recruiting for a Production Engineer to assist in the NPI process and oversee our manufacturing processes, carrying out root cause analysis and maintaining the 8D / RMA system.

You will ensure best practice and identify problems in the production line, troubleshooting manufacturing issues and completing administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and carrying out 8D/RMA activities while maintaining the process within Engineering
  • Developing operating instructions and equipment specifications for production
  • Implementing cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality
  • Monitoring manufacturing processes to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Diagnosing problems, providing recommendations, and training to eliminate issues
  • Liaising with engineers to improve production, costs, and labor efficiency
  • Establishing safety procedures that prioritize worker well-being and minimize environmental impact
  • Sharing knowledge on engineering and production advancements
  • Documenting and reporting unsafe practices
  • Checking drawings, routes, and new BOM items for completeness and production readiness
  • Creating drawings, routes, and BOM items for production readiness
  • Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
  • Analyzing production facets and recommending improvements
  • Identifying and obtaining required materials and equipment

Required skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in the engineering field
  • Experience with CAD software and proficiency in MS Office
  • A degree or HNC in engineering
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Open-minded attitude towards new ideas
  • Hands-on experience assembling complex assemblies
