Job summary

Hunter Bond in London is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (Production / Development) to own the reliability, availability and performance of applications in production. You will automate operational work and fix recurring issues, run root cause analysis and deliver new engineering solutions to complex problems, and lead incident management from immediate resolution to preventative fixes.

This role involves setting SRE best practices across teams and understanding application behavior

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related STEM field or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with CI/CD experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with high-frequency trading environments preferred.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

• Owning the reliability, availability and performance of applications in production
• Automating repetitive operational work and fixing recurring systemic issues
• Running root cause analysis and delivering new engineering solutions to complex problems
• Leading incident management, from immediate resolution to longer-term preventative fixes
• Setting SRE best practices and standards across other engineering teams
• Understanding application behaviour end to end, including its business context

What we're looking for

• Degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python preferred)
• Experience with modern development practices: testing, source control, CI/CD, build systems
• Strong written and verbal communication
• An adaptable, entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in hard technical problems
• SQL or database experience
• Prior HFT experience
• Personal passion projects
