Job description

Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit a driven and experienced CNC Production Engineer to join a leading manufacturer near Keighley. This provides an opportunity to join an extremely stable and expanding British manufacturer who are a household name in their industry.

This role will involve working within the machine shop and also supporting the Manufacturing Engineering function of the business by creating new CNC Programs using Hypermill and supporting with online programming of CNC Machines.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in CNC Machining and Programming within a precision manufacturing environment . Strong working knowledge CAM Software is a must (Ideally Hypermill) .

Hours - 39 hours per week ( Flexible Hours Mon- Thurs 6 - 3/ 7- 4 /8-5 / Friday 6-11/7-12/8-1)

Role Description

• Develop CNC programs using Hypermill CAD/CAM software and contribute to CNC machine programming tasks
• Coordinate with machinists and tooling suppliers to ensure the use of optimal cutting tools
• Design and implement jigs and fixtures to enhance manufacturing efficiency
• Evaluate and refine component routings to improve productivity
• Assess and enhance production processes to minimise waste and boost output
• Deliver training on machine setup and operation, including mentoring apprentices
• Identify, evaluate, and engage subcontractors based on machining capability and quality standards
• Support factory layout planning, preventative maintenance scheduling, and risk assessment processes
• Collaborate with subcontractors to support supplier development and expedite delivery schedules
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and Lean manufacturing projects
• Operate critical CNC machinery as cover during team absences
• Conduct supplier and subcontractor visits as required
• Work cross-functionally with other departments to optimise interdepartmental workflows

Qualifications / Skills

• Time served in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in CNC Programming/ Production Engineering
• Knowledge of CAM Software (Hypermill).
• Practical knowledge of milling, turning processes.
• Selection and design of tooling, jigs and fixtures for component manufacturing
• Excellent IT Skills - MS Office ( Excel/ Outlook etc)
