Job description

We are currently looking for a Production Engineer to join our client s team in Hailsham.

The main purpose of this role will be to:

  • Assist in the NPI process and help oversee our client s manufacturing processes
  • Carry out root cause analysis and maintain the 8D/RMA system
  • Ensure best practices and health and safety codes are followed
  • Identify problems in the production line, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and complete various administrative tasks

The main requirements and employee accountabilities are:

  • Lead and carry out 8D/RMA activities while maintaining the 8D/RMA process within Engineering
  • Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Monitor the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner
  • Diagnose problems in the production line, provide recommendations and training to eliminate any issues
  • Liaise with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour content
  • Establish safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and also minimise the carbon footprint
  • Keep abreast of advancements in engineering and production, then share knowledge with co-workers
  • Identify, document, and report unsafe practices
  • Check drawings, routes, and new BOM items for completeness and production readiness

  • Schedule meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
  • Analyse all facets of production and make recommendations for improvement
  • Identify and obtain any materials and equipment required for the above

The essential skills/experience required for this role are:

  • Experience with CAD software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proven experience in the engineering field

Required Qualifications:
Degree/HNC in engineering

Salary: Negotiable, DOE
37-hour week, flexible working with a 12pm Friday finish.
