Job summary

Team Recruitment (Poole) Limited is seeking a Production Engineer to improve manufacturing processes from concept to production. You'll work with production and engineering teams to solve problems, improve efficiency and implement better ways of working.

You’ll apply Lean, Six Sigma, and automation projects while developing tooling, layouts and documentation. The role offers variety, autonomy and opportunities to develop in a collaborative, technically advanced environment in Poole.

Qualifications

• Experience as a production, manufacturing or mechanical engineer in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
• HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Strong Lean / Six Sigma and problem-solving skills.
• 3D CAD capability (SolidWorks preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop production processes, work instructions and technical documentation.
• Design tooling, fixtures and production aids using 3D CAD.
• Improve layouts, workflows, ergonomics and production efficiency.
• Deliver Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues.
• Support automation, standardisation and new technology projects.
• Develop testing and validation processes.
• Support capacity planning, costings and process optimisation.
• Lead equipment investment and implementation projects.
• Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality, safety and regulatory standards.

The opportunity as Production Engineer

As Production Engineer, you’ll help improve manufacturing processes from concept through to production. You’ll work closely with production and engineering teams to solve problems, improve efficiency and introduce better ways of working.

Your work will include:

What you’ll bring to the table as Production Engineer

You’ll ideally have experience as a Production, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineer within a high-mix manufacturing environment, alongside an HND (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.

You’ll also bring:

• Strong Lean / Six Sigma and problem-solving experience
• 3D CAD capability, ideally SolidWorks
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing routings
• Strong analytical, communication and project skills
• Experience implementing engineering or process changes

Experience with automation, rapid prototyping, injection moulding, flowline manufacturing or LabVIEW would be advantageous. Six Sigma Green Belt (or above) would also be beneficial.
