Job summary

A leading company in aerospace manufacturing is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to improve efficiency and product quality using Lean Manufacturing techniques. My client, a market leader within aerospace manufacturing, is on the hunt for an experienced Production Engineer!

Role and Responsibilities –

In this role, you will drive improvements in manufacturing efficiency, utilization, and productivity using Lean Manufacturing techniques and NPI processes. You will play a key part in some exciting new projects on the horizon for the business!

Other responsibilities include:

  • Reducing process variability, increasing product quality, and reducing costs on manufacturing processes through Lean Manufacturing and other relevant techniques as appropriate
  • Continuously reviewing and monitoring cell layout to ensure the most efficient process flow. Managing any identified changes as required
  • Championing and managing specific improvement projects to deliver quality, cost, delivery, and people objectives
  • Conducting process capability and value stream mapping studies to identify improvement opportunities in conjunction with quality engineers

Experience or Qualifications –

  • BSc or HNC in Mechanical or Production Engineering (ideally with aerospace background)
  • Experience in designing tooling and fixtures for heading, forging, and machining operations
  • Experience with metal forming or metalworking processes
  • Proven examples of process improvement and capability in previous roles
