Job description

Role: Production Engineer
Salary: £35K to £45K DOE
Hours: Monday to Thursday 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Engineer to oversee key aspects of fabrication, supply chain coordination, and project delivery. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in welding and fabrication, now expanding into engineering management and operational planning. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring production efficiency, documentation accuracy, and seamless client handovers. This is a temporary to permanent role after a 'probationary' period of 18 weeks.

Key Responsibilities
* Supply Chain Management: Coordinate with galvanizers and coatings suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
* Client Documentation: Manage and compile handover packs, ensuring all client-facing documentation is complete and accurate.
* Transport Coordination: Collate transport documentation and liaise with logistics teams to schedule dispatches.
* Fabrication Liaison: Communicate with the fabrication team to track outgoing work and ensure alignment with project timelines.
* Technical Queries (TQs): Control and resolve TQs, ensuring technical clarity and compliance across teams.
* Project Planning: Collaborate with the planning engineer to update programmes and schedules, ensuring project milestones are met.
* MRP System Management: Operate within the Strumis MRP system to manage production data, inventory, and workflow tracking.
* Production Efficiency: Monitor and improve fabrication efficiency, identifying bottlenecks and implementing process improvements.
* Health & Safety: Actively contribute to H&S initiatives, ensuring safe working practices and compliance with regulations.
