Production Engineer/Production Planner

Leeds, West Yorkshire
GBP35K-GBP45K pa (DOE) + Benefits
Full-Time Permanent Monday to Friday (1pm Finish on Fridays)

We re looking for a proactive Production Engineer to play a key role in keeping our clients manufacturing operations running smoothly from sourcing parts and materials to creating production routings and providing hands-on engineering support across the workshop and wider business.

In this role, you ll be the vital link between design, manufacturing, and procurement helping us deliver high-quality machinery on time, every time.

What you ll be doing:

  • Sourcing and purchasing materials, parts, tooling, and consumables needed for production.
  • Planning machining and fabrication routes to deliver components on time.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and documentation to determine the best manufacturing methods.
  • Estimating processing times and setting up accurate job data in our ERP/MRP system.
  • Identifying work holding and tooling requirements for different processes.
  • Keeping all production paperwork and records up to date, ensuring full traceability and compliance with ISO9001 standards.
  • Providing hands-on engineering support to various departments, helping resolve technical queries and quality issues.
  • Contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the production office and workshop.
  • Collaborating with teams across the business to drive efficiencies and maintain high-quality output.

What we re looking for:

  • Solid understanding of workshop practices you ll know your way around metal cutting techniques, speeds and feeds, tooling choices, and work holding methods.
  • Confident interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Previous experience working in a similar engineering or manufacturing role.
  • Comfortable using ERP/MRP systems to manage production data.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting others.
