We are currently looking for a Production Engineer to join our client s team in Hailsham.
The main purpose of this role will be to:
- Assist in the NPI process and help oversee our client s manufacturing processes
- Carry out root cause analysis and maintain the 8D/RMA system
- Ensure best practices and health and safety codes are followed
- Identify problems in the production line, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and complete various administrative tasks
The main requirements and employee accountabilities are:
- Lead and carry out 8D/RMA activities while maintaining the 8D/RMA process within Engineering
- Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities
- Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high–quality standards
- Monitor the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner
- Diagnose problems in the production line, provide recommendations and training to eliminate any issues
- Liaise with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour content
- Establish safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well–being into account, and also minimise the carbon footprint
- Keep abreast of advancements in engineering and production, then share knowledge with co–workers
- Identify, document, and report unsafe practices
- Check drawings, routes, and new BOM items for completeness and production readiness

- Schedule meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
- Analyse all facets of production and make recommendations for improvement
- Identify and obtain any materials and equipment required for the above
The essential skills/experience required for this role are:
- Experience with CAD software
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Proven experience in the engineering field

Required Qualifications:
Degree/HNC in engineering
Salary: Negotiable, DOE
37–hour week, flexible working with a 12pm Friday finish.
