An established engineering manufacturer is seeking a Production Engineer to support and optimise manufacturing processes within an electromechanical production environment. This role is key to ensuring efficient production flow, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The Production Engineer will act as the interface between Design and Manufacturing, with a strong focus on New Product Introduction (NPI), process documentation, tooling support, and day-to-day production assistance.
Develop, implement, and optimise production processes, including work instructions, operating procedures, and test specifications
Support New Product Introduction activities, including pilot builds, process validation, and transition into full production
Contribute to Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews
Specify, maintain, and support production equipment, jigs, and fixtures
Diagnose equipment and process issues, coordinating corrective actions as required
Work closely with Quality to define inspection methods and resolve non-conformances
Lead and support continuous improvement activities using Lean and CI methodologies
Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost‑saving opportunities
Provide technical support and training to production operators and technicians
Maintain accurate and controlled production documentation
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering
Experience working with electromechanical assemblies (e.g. motors, sensors, PCBs, wiring, actuators)
Background in high‑mix or low‑volume manufacturing environments is advantageous
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, 8D, Ishikawa)
Experience with ERP / MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Confident with KPI analysis and technical report writing
