More than anything, it’s about people. Nufarm is the dependable partner behind thousands of agricultural success stories. Every day, growers around the world turn to our products and our people to help with the challenges of fighting disease, weeds, and pests, and to increase crop yields.

Production Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing

Join our team as a Production Engineer, where you’ll be the go-to expert for plant processes. Your mission? To optimize production, drive cost savings, enhance quality, and boost capacity. Plus, you’ll lead continuous improvement efforts and provide daily technical support. Ready to make an impact?

What is possible?

  1. Maintenance Priorities: Collaborate with the Operations Leader to define weekly maintenance priorities, minimizing impact on product commitments.
  2. OEE Optimization: Identify and address OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) losses, implementing real-time tools and improvement plans to enhance site capacity.
  3. Technical Troubleshooting: Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support, focusing on software and technical/quality issues. Initiate MOC (Management of Change) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) as needed.
  4. Quality Improvement: Deploy Lean Six Sigma tools, including RFT (Right First Time), Control Charts, Cpk, and Ppk, to stabilize processes and ensure quality control.
  5. Daily Activities: Assist with daily activities such as MOC, RCA, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) review, and strategic projects.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with production staff, including operatives and technicians, to maintain efficient assembly, manufacturing, and packaging systems.

What do you bring?

  1. Preferably, candidates for the Production Engineer role within chemical manufacturing should hold a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. This educational foundation equips them with essential knowledge related to chemical processes, safety protocols, and material properties.
  2. Familiarity with chemical principles and process design is crucial. Chemical engineers possess the technical expertise needed to address challenges specific to chemical manufacturing.
  3. A background in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering ensures that candidates are well-versed in safety regulations, risk assessment, and compliance standards.
  4. Production Engineers often encounter technical issues or process inefficiencies. With their problem-solving skills, they can troubleshoot problems, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  5. Effective communication skills are necessary for conveying technical information, coordinating efforts, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

What’s in it for you?

  1. Growth and development opportunities across our global organisation.
  2. Enhanced holiday entitlement of 28 days per year (plus bank holidays).
  3. A boosted pension scheme – we’ll match 1.25% to every 1% you pay (up to 8%).
  4. Free Canteen.
  5. Health Cash Plan.
  6. Long service awards.
  7. Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  8. A friendly and supportive team where you’re encouraged to be yourself and come as you are!
