Job description

Focused Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our client's manufacturing site in the Caerphilly area.

The role reports to the Production Engineering Team Leader and involves supporting new product development from the implementation phase into the production environment.

Hours of Work

The position is full-time, working 38 hours per week.

Duties
  1. Creation and maintenance of 3D CAD models, including producing 2D drawings.
  2. Collaborating with external suppliers on part details and specifications.
  3. Designing and manufacturing jigs and fixtures.
  4. Participating in progress meetings across various business areas.
  5. Designing and creating assembly line layouts as required.
  6. Raising and tracking progress of engineering change requests.
  7. Implementing corrective actions and product improvements, including cost-saving initiatives.
  8. Retesting products to verify improvements and cost reductions.
  9. Participating in DFMEA and PFMEA meetings.
  10. Maintaining elements of the portal related to the role.
  11. Working within ISO9001 Quality Management standards and internal systems.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience as a Production Engineer, with proficiency in CAD for designing and manufacturing jigs and fixtures. You should be comfortable participating in meetings to implement best practices, corrective actions, and production improvements.
