About The Role

As a Production Engineer, you will ensure SEA’s production processes are effective and predictable by deploying appropriate processes, controls, and equipment. You will also provide input into PV projects to promote DFM best practices.
This position is based at our Barnstaple site with flexible working arrangements.
Salary: Up to £38k, depending on experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Calibrating tooling
- Generating and maintaining standard operating instructions
- Designing production line layouts and balancing
- Managing material handling, storage, and continuous flow/pull systems
- Conducting time studies in manufacturing
- Optimizing and challenging product designs for DFM
- Reviewing and implementing process improvements to reduce costs
- Developing visual controls on the shop floor
- Leading the implementation of engineering changes
- Addressing quality issues in manufacturing
- Evaluating returned materials and products
- Participating in daily GEMBA meetings
- Designing fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks
- Supporting PFMEA and implementing improvements

Skills required
Design of production tooling and equipment (Mechanical or electrical engineering, SolidWorks preferred). Experience with calibration, measurement systems, gauges, SMED, TPM. Strong problem-solving skills, manufacturing documentation, ISO9001 awareness, and ability to interpret designs.
