Job Description: Production Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Production Design Engineer to join our team. The role involves:

1. Adopting developed products and transitioning them to production for market introduction within a fast-paced, dynamic engineering environment.
2. Completing product design improvements from concept through to support, build, and installation.
3. Providing engineering support and guidance to production.
4. Coordinating with colleagues to support the sales team with technical specifications, sales drawings, site visits, and technical advice.
5. Meeting regularly with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Design Team to communicate information related to potential business improvement initiatives.
6. Participating in continuous improvement activities to enhance production, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
7. Collaborating with other departments on Engineering Design matters.
8. Following company processes related to equipment design.
9. Producing CAD models and drawings using 2D and 3D CAD systems, ensuring they meet design specifications.
10. Sourcing materials and components for product improvements, ensuring value for money.
11. Representing the company at exhibitions and trade shows to provide technical product expertise.
12. Providing technical support and assisting with customer inquiries in aftersales.

Person Specification – Production Design Engineer

Qualifications/Experience & Knowledge

• Good education (including English and Maths) with 5 years’ design experience, OR a degree in Engineering with 1 year’s design experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with CAD design.
• Awareness of relevant safety standards.
• Design experience in a materials handling manufacturing environment.
• Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical control systems, and diesel engine installations.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer.
• Research and Development experience.
