• They design, development, and manufacture of specialist machinery and equipment used by recognised organisations across the world.

• Salary commensurate with experience (£40K - £50K as a guide) + private health + pension + early finish on a Friday.

We are looking for a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer with jig and fixture design experience that would relish the opportunity to work in a growing engineering business.

Production Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• The initial focus of the role will be on the development, design, and delivery of jigs, fixtures, and tooling for assembly operations to enable efficient, consistent, and ergonomic manual assembly operations.

• Produce and tolerance engineering drawings for jigs, fixtures, and tooling.

• Produce CAD drawings using SolidWorks to enable tooling manufacture (currently performed by external suppliers).

• The role will then grow to also include designing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.

• Specify and source manufacturing equipment, tooling, and materials.

Your background as a Production Design Engineer:

• Be able to read, understand, produce and tolerance engineering drawings.

• Previous experience of jig and fixture design.

• Be able to use 3D CAD (prior SolidWorks experience ideally).

• Knowledge and some experience of making process improvements within a production / manufacturing environment (ideally a mechanical engineering environment)

• You are likely to hold a professional qualification in a manufacturing engineering, production engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or similar discipline.
