A great opportunity has arisen atThe Mill Bay / The Plaice To Bein Ventnor, for an Apprentice Production Chef.

This is an ideal position for someone who is leaving school or college, and wants to form a career in professional cookery.

TheThe Mill Bay / The Plaice To Beis a warm and welcoming pub and restaurant on the seafront in Ventnor. With a good selection of drinks and menu of home-cooked food.

As an apprentice Production Chef, you will take on a full-time role in the kitchen under the supervision of passionate chefs alongside your training.

The successful applicant will be undertaking the Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship with HTP Apprenticeship College.

Key Responsibilities:

- Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
- P
rovide food preparation and high standards of cooking to meet regulatory and legislative requirements around food hygiene and dietary requirements and presentation
- To assist the other chefs
- Assisting with stock rotation and cleaning stations
- Helping with deliveries and re-stocking
- Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards

None – We are just looking for someone with passion, personality and a desire to learn and progress within professional cookery.

- Ability to follow policy and procedures
- High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- A flexibility to work weekends and holidays – this is a Must in any hospitality role

- A flexible approach to getting any task done

Hours:

The hours will be a minimum of 30, which will increase during busier times and the holiday season.

This will be based on 5 days, including weekends.
