They are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Buyer to support procurement activities and ensure the timely supply of materials for manufacturing.

Job Summary:
The Production Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services necessary for production. This role plays a key part in managing supplier relationships, ensuring on-time delivery, controlling costs, and maintaining inventory levels aligned with production schedules.

The successful Production Buyer will:-

• Have previous buying or purchasing experience from within manufacturing
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Knowledge of production planning and supply chain processes.
• Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Raise purchase orders and manage delivery schedules to meet production plans.
• Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers for direct production materials.
• Monitor material availability and proactively address shortages or delays.
• Work closely with production planning, engineering, and quality teams.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier performance, and costings.
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through alternative sourcing and negotiation.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies, quality issues, and logistics problems.
• Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance evaluations.
