Job summary

Reliance Worldwide Corporation is seeking a Quality Inspector to support on-site inspection and testing of plastic parts, ensuring conformance to engineering drawings and standards. Qualifications

• Excellent understanding in working with Vernier calipers, micrometers, surface tester (required).

• Good understanding of Statistical Process Control (required).
• Experience in dealing with small parts (advantage).

Responsible for the quality inspection and testing of products manufactured on site, supporting internal quality non-conformities, containment activity and non-conformance investigations. The role supports a Safety First and Right First-Time culture by ensuring parts are inspected, tested and confirmed as conforming against agreed standards before progressing through the process. The role is responsible for carrying out quality inspection and testing on plastic parts against agreed specifications, recording results accurately using both digital and manual systems, and working closely with Production, Quality, Auditing and Moulding teams to maintain product quality, reduce waste and support continuous improvement.

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Always adhere to company H&S procedures, wear all required PPE and maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment, including machinery, floors, ancillary equipment, storage and administrative areas. Embrace behavioral based safety and environmental adherence, focus on “see it, sort it, report it” methodology to deal with immediate safety concerns and proactively take ownership of personal safety and for the safety of colleagues by reporting through our KPA safety reporting platform. Comply with all current work instructions within the organization.
• First point of contact for any quality issues raised on the shop floor. Accountable for the enforcement of quality standards via inspection and testing. Ensure parts are conforming, contained, reworked or scrapped as necessary, and elevate quality concerns to the Section Lead, Shift Manager or Quality Assurance team where required.
• Conduct relevant QC inspections of components and assemblies to ensure they meet internal and customer specifications and quality standards.
• Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections using calibrated measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges, thread gauges, surface tester, tensometers and any other part specific gauges. Carry out applicable functional testing, including leak test fixtures and stress testing, where required by product specification. Verify product compliance against engineering drawings, control plans, work instructions.
• Record inspection results accurately within the relevant system (e.g. company SPC system) and maintain quality documentation in accordance with company procedures and IATF/ISO requirements.
• Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming products via internal NCR system, ensuring defective material is contained to prevent shipment to customers. Responsible for any containment actions and participate in/or own investigation of quality issues which may arise.
• Support production teams by providing timely feedback on quality issues and assisting with corrective actions to minimize scrap and rework.
• Support machine operators on quality standards, inspection requirements and applicable procedures, ensuring agreed processes and policies are followed consistently.
• Support the Quality Team with Inspection Reports or any additional request.
• Ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated, handled correctly, and used in accordance with calibration procedures.
• Carry out regular process audits and product audits to confirm manufacturing processes remain stable and capable of producing conforming parts.
