ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Assistant is responsible for ensuring that food production at Daylesford Organic’s award-winning facility is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This facility specializes in creating organic soups, broths, and meals for a diverse range of retail, catering, and wholesale customers. Using fresh ingredients from the farm whenever possible—including meat exclusively supplied by our abattoir, milk from our own Creamery, and vegetables and herbs from our Market Garden—the Production Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional quality and taste.

Salary: £12.70 (+15% night-shift premium) per hour

Hours: 4 x 10-hour shifts, Sunday-Wednesday, 20:00-6:30 (including 30 min unpaid break), and 1 x 5-hour shift, Thursday, 19:00-00:00

Responsibilities
  1. Reports to: Production Unit Manager
  2. Food:
    • Execute all products as per company specifications.
    • Handle and treat food as if it were your own.
    • Prepare food in a timely and professional manner.
    • Adhere to organic standards set out by the Soil Association.
    • Contribute to the standard of all Daylesford Organic products.
  3. Operations:
    • Ensure ingredients are prepared, weighed, and measured for production.
    • Follow cleaning rotas at all times.
    • Separate rubbish into correct recycling bins and remove from site throughout and at the end of shifts.
    • Complete tasks efficiently within given timeframes.
  4. Numbers:
    • Work safely and efficiently to ensure daily orders are fulfilled above required rates.
    • Minimize wastage.
    • Comply with internal and external audit requirements.
    • Assist the Production Unit Manager in achieving financial and budgetary targets.
  5. People:
    • Communicate effectively with team members regarding recipes, procedures, and operational needs.
    • Promote our purpose by driving social and environmental improvements and supporting our B Corp journey.
    • Inspire and empower customers, suppliers, and partners to live more consciously.
