Job description

  • Job title: Production Assistant
  • Reporting to: Deputy Production Manager
  • Location: 5th Floor, HYLO, 105 Bunhill Row, London, EC1Y 8LZ
  • Working pattern: Hybrid – minimum of two days per week in the office; up to three days per week working from home
  • Department: Production
  • Salary: £27,000 per annum

General Summary

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join the Production team at Bonnier Books UK.

Bonnier Books UK produce an incredibly diverse range of books, from mono fiction through beautiful, high-end picture books, to complex novelty titles. As a key member of our friendly production team, you will work closely with internal colleagues and external suppliers across all imprints. You will be responsible for reprints and co-editions across a wide-range of products, as well as providing essential support to the team. Working with us will provide you with a career that is both diverse and challenging, providing a continual learning experience.

You will love books, have a great eye for detail, be numerate and exceptionally organised. You must be positive, flexible, a great communicator and both a strong team player and able to work independently. The ability to stay calm and focused under pressure is a must!

Key responsibilities

  • Management of backlist titles & reprints –including confirming scheduling and pricing. Raising print orders and sending files to the printer.
  • Data management and organisation –updating the company database and providing accurate data to the business, as well as supporting the team with various in-house workflows and invoices.
  • General office administration and support – booking couriers, sorting parcels, recycling and filing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Organisation skills and an eye for detail.
  • Experience working in an office environment is beneficial
  • Ability to stay calm and focused when dealing with competing deadlines.
  • A positive and flexible approach; able to work independently as required.
  • Communication skills and a strong team player.
  • Basic knowledge of the book production process is an advantage but not essential. Required training will be provided to the successful candidate.
