Job description

  • A global mass media and broadcasting company is looking for a Production Assistant Accountant to support the production finance team. Looking for someone to start ASAP for a 3 month contract, paying up to GBP300 a day inside IR35. Offering hybrid flexible working with 3–4 days a week from their London based office.

    Role Summary

    This role supports the Production Management team across scripted, unscripted, and animated content by providing day–to–day financial and administrative support. Key responsibilities include raising purchase orders, processing payments, vendor setup, cost tracking, and financial reporting. The role involves close collaboration with internal departments including Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Controllership

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set up and manage vendors in financial systems; ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing

    • Raise and track Purchase Orders (POs); work with budget owners to ensure correct coding

    • Monitor project costs, maintain cost trackers, and reconcile supplier balances

    • Assist with budgeting, cost reviews, forecasting, and scenario planning

    • Prepare and submit regular spend reports; support financial close and audit processes

    • Ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements before processing payments

    • Identify and resolve payment discrepancies; support financial tracking across departments

    • Contribute to improving financial workflows and system efficiency

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors

    Accountabilities

    • Responsible for accurate cost tracking and timely payments across productions

    • Accountable for maintaining financial control and transparency

    • Support compliance with internal financial standards and policies

    • Help ensure production operations align with budget expectations and timelines

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Prior experience in production finance or accounting (e.g., Finance Coordinator or Assistant Accountant)

    • Strong working knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems (e.g., SAP)

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software

    • Experience managing budgets and financial workflows in a fast–paced environment

    • Strong communication and organizational skills

    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
